Smart bedwetting alarm uses 2 AAA batteries. Always use fresh batteries in your Smart. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

How do I install the batteries?

Release the snap-on clip from the back of the alarm unit, insert the batteries (as shown in image below) and close the battery compartment door. The alarm will beep, vibrate and flash a light to signal successful installation. For more detailed instruction refer to your user manual.

How do I store Smart bedwetting alarm during the day when not in use?

Disconnect the sensor from the Smart bedwetting alarm unit during the day. The lights, sounds and vibrations of the alarm unit will stop. The alarm unit enters standby (power save) mode.

How long do batteries last?

Your Smart is designed to have an ultra-long battery life. If the sensor is disconnected from the alarm unit during the day, the batteries should last a year or longer.

How long should I continue the treatment?

It is recommended to continue the treatment until at 14 consecutive dry nights have been recorded.

How do I program the alarm?

It is easy to program the Smart bedwetting alarm with one program button that allows you to choose from sound and vibrate, sound (only) and vibrate (only) mode. The alarm doesn’t have an on/off button.

How do I select a desired mode?

Smart bedwetting alarm has three settings. Press and release program switch once for sound (only) mode, press and release the program button second time for vibrate (only) mode and press and release for third time for sound & Vibrate mode.

How do I connect sensor to the alarm unit?

What is the best position for placing the sensor?

Clip the sensor as close as possible to the point of urination. Fold the cloth by holding it between your fingers and thumbs.

Open the sensor by lifting the lever and insert the folded cloth. Release the lever to secure the sensor on the underwear.

Can I use diapers with Smart Bedwetting Alarm?

Yes. Of Course! Often parents use diapers with Smart bedwetting alarm as an added precaution to prevent wet and soiled sheets. In case you use diapers, first attach the sensor to the outside of child’s underwear, and then place the diaper over the underwear. Ensure that the sensor is sandwiched between the undergarment and the diaper.

For Smart Bedside Alarm – Installing the Mat

How do I connect mat to the alarm unit?

Place the Smart bedwetting alarm unit on the bedside or someplace convenient where your child can hear the alarm and reach it to turn it off.

  • Insert the IntelliFlex mat into the cloth sleeve that is provided with the Smart alarm system.
  • Place the bed sheet directly over the mat. Ensure that your child does not come in contact with the mat. The mat is sensitive and sweat from the body can trigger the Smart alarm.

 

  • To start monitoring for bedwetting events, insert the sensor plug into the sensor jack. The alarm unit will beep twice signaling a successful connection has been established.

Can I use diapers with Smart Bedwetting Alarm?

You can use a bed-mat, but do not use a diaper. Many parents prefer to use a bed-mat when using the Smart Bedwetting Alarm to prevent sheets from getting soiled and wet. A bed-mat or other protective bedding can be used, but must be placed below the mat. A diaper can not be used. Using a diaper will block urine to the mat and the alarm will not sound.

  • Place the bed sheet directly over the mat. Ensure that your child does not come in contact with the mat. The mat is very sensitive and sweat from the body can trigger the Smart alarm.

My child sweata a lot. how do I minimize false alarms?

Some children sweat more than other children. This may cause the IntelliFlex mat to go off at night. To minimize false alarms, follow the step below.

  • Insert the IntelliFlex mat into the cloth sleeve that is provided with the Smart alarm system.
  • Place a bed sheet directly over the mat enclosed in the pillowcase.

 

  • To start monitoring for bedwetting events, insert the mat plug into the Smart alarm. The alarm unit will beep twice signaling a successful connection has been established.

Can I use mat with the Smart wearable alarm or sensor with Smart bedside alarm?

Although the Smart wearable and Smart bedside alarms look alike, they are different from the inside. Please use the Smart system with the correct sensor/mat. The Smart Wearable Alarm System will work correctly ONLY with the IntelliFlex sensor. When used with the IntelliFlex mat, it will cause false alarms. The Smart Bedside Bedwetting Alarm System will work correctly ONLY with the IntelliFlex mat. When used with the IntelliFlex sensor, it will not detect urine correctly.

Troubleshooting the Smart Bedwetting Alarm

Why do I see my alarm flashing a light continuously?

The Smart Bedwetting Alarm detects low battery. Most likely the batteries of the alarm unit are week and need to be replaced. When the batteries are low the LED lights up. If this is the case, please remove old batteries and replace with new AAA batteries.

I am trying to program the alarm. But the program button is unresponsive?

Program button is unresponsive in two situations—either you forgot to disconnect the sensor from the alarm unit before programming the alarm or the battery of the alarm unit is running low.

Why is sensor not detecting urine?

The sensor needs to be washed regularly as urine salts deposit on it over time. The sensor should work once you clean it to remove all deposits. Ensure the sensor is dry before reuse. Please follow these steps to clean the sensor.

Disconnect the sensor from the alarm unit by unplugging the plug from sensor jack.

Why is mat not detecting urine?

Over time, urine salts can build up on the mat. To remove these, please follow the steps below.

  • Disconnect IntelliFlex mat from the alarm unit.
  • Gently clean the IntelliFlex mat with a damp cotton cloth then immediately pat dry with a towel or cloth – DO NOT USE SOAP OR LIQUID DETERGENT. DO NOT WASH THE PLUG (the end that goes into the alarm unit).

  • Reinsert the IntelliFlex mat into the alarm unit. The alarm unit will beep twice and lights will flash.
  • Place a damp towel on the IntelliFlex mat. The alarm unit will beep and lights will flash.
  • Press the enable button and disconnect IntelliFlex mat from the alarm unit.

Your IntelliFlex mat is ready to detect bedwetting accidents.

Monitoring your child’s progress is easy. Every morning when your child wakes up, let them color a box whether they woke up wet or dry. Each day has a small check box; check the box only if your child slept dry through out the night. Do not check the box if the Smart alarm beeped at night. When your child records 14 consecutive dry nights (14 consecutive checks), you may discontinue the treatment.

How do I attach comfy-armband?

  1. Remove the snap-on clip from your Smart alarm and place the alarm in the comfy-armband pouch.
  2. Slide the comfy-armband onto your child’s arm, adjust the strap so it fits comfortably and then secure the Velcro tab. Do not secure the tab too tightly.

How do I clean the Smart Bedwetting Alarm?

Clean the alarm unit with soft, dry cloth. Do not place the alarm unit under water. If needed, wipe the dry Smart bedwetting alarm with a pre-saturated alcohol wipes to disinfect it.
